Swedish violinist Karolina Weber Ekdahl was born into a music family in Helsingborg and started playing the violin at the age of six. After studies at the Malmö Academy of Music, University of the Art in Utrecht in Holland and a Long-term recidence at the Banff Centre for the Arts in Canada she moved to Stockholm to study at Edsberg Manor, the Royal College of Music, with Indra String Quartet, Indrakvartetten. With the quartet and alone she attended Master Classes and festivals all over Europe, gratefully receiving the knowledge of renowned artists such as prof Hatto Beyerle, the Amadeus Quartet, the Alberni Quartet, Andras Keller, prof Thomas Riebl, prof Johannes Meissl among others.
Since graduating Karolina has enjoyed a busy freelance career playing with most of Swedens most established orchestras and ensembles. She is a versatile musician who enjoys many different styles of music and her preference for chamber music is frequently showed in her work. She has a Master in Early Music from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and is a keen baroque violinist, regularly working with the most distinguished artists in the field. Karolina has been awarded twice with employee grants from the Swedish Arts Council and has received several grants from the Royal Swedish Academy of Music among others.
